                                                       Deep in the sea

                                                       where you can't see

                                                       There lies a shell

                                                       and its like a bell!

                                                       Touch of the waves

                                                        makes it tingle

                                                       Inside the shell

                                                       There lies a pearl single!

During this week till 18/12/2019 we were at school and on 19/12/2019 we came back to college. The first three days we were engaged in preparing the tools for the achievement test that should be conducted at the end our teaching practice. We had to prepare the blue print of the test in advance so that process would become easier during the preparation of question paper and setting the scoring scheme.

On Thursday and Friday we were at college. We had to prepare for the next session of teaching practice that will start after Christmas holidays.

Report of Innovative Work

INNOVATIVE WORK

INTRODUCTION

As a part of the B.Ed course, we were assigned to do an innovative work based on our teaching practice.
In the English coursebook of Standard VIII, there is an activity section dealing with some phrasal verbs of the lesson, 'The Nightingale and the Rose'. So I decided to concentrate my innovative work on the phrasal verb 'take'. Thus I created a model named 'Take Villa'.

OBJECTIVES

  • To know about the usage of phrasal verbs.
  • To familiarize with the phrasal verb, 'take'.
  • To know the meaning of different usage of the phrasal verb, 'take'.

TAKE VILLA

The four windows of the Villa shows the picture, meaning, examole sentences and synonyms of  'take down, 'take up', 'take after' and 'take back'. The main door opens to the illustrations showing 'take in',  'take out', 'take off', 'take on', 'take apart' and 'take away'.

                                                  Dec 9, 2019 - Dec 13, 2019

Exams started on 9/12/2019 and will be continued till 18/12/2019. As we were not given any exam duties we were engaged in preparing the rough draft of our project and book review. My Project is based on my action research in rectifying the errors in Subject Verb Agreement among students while they write in English. I engaged in collecting previous related studies and also found out strategies for the action research. I had selected the book, Teaching English to Indian Pupils by Nurul Huda for writing the review.

I completed third week of teaching practice. I had completed five more lesson plans in this week. Among them class based on the ICT lesson plan was very effective. I completed the story The Nightingale and the Rose and also the textual activities. I also taught Personal Pronouns using the Advance Organizer Method and Adverb using the Concept Attainment Method. I conducted a diagnostic test on 3/12/2019 inorder to analyse usage of English language by the students. Our Physical Education teacher, Pramod came for class observation and we took classes on health related subjects. I took a class on Malnutrition.

As exams were about to start on 9/12/2019, I revised all the chapters and also corrected their notebooks. This week too I observed my friends' teaching practice. It helped me to learn some new teaching methods and also correct them. My friends also came to observe my class and they gave me valuable corrections.
